Dordrecht had lost all nine of their previous home games and it seemed they were on the verge of another defeat when Michael de Leeuw headed Groningen in front on the stroke of half time after good work from Jarchinio Antonia.
However the home side rallied in the second half and deservedly drew level seven minutes from time as Robin Gosens shot was deflected off Mimoun Mahi and out of Sergio Padt’s reach.
Despite a late push from Dordrecht they could not earn their first home win, and had to settle for their second draw in a row. Dordrecht go into the winter break rooted to the bottom and nine points from safety, while Groningen are 8th.
