Dordrecht’s time in the Eredivisie is coming to an end after they were defeated 3-2 by relegation rivals Heracles in an entertaining tie.

With games running out for Dordrecht they knew a win was crucial against Heracles if they were to kick-start a run to survival, but after only seven minutes Bryan Linssen sent a volley into the bottom corner to put the away side ahead.
Dordrecht showed good fight, and on 17 minutes Everon Pisas raced onto Jeffrey Fortes pass before finishing calmly to level the scores. Dordrecht were ahead five minutes later as Pisas turned provider when his cross across the box was fired into the bottom corner by Joris van Overeem.
Dordrecht seemed comfortable at the start of the second half, but out of nowhere Heracles leveled on 70 minutes when Wout Weghorst got ahead of his marker to fire in Linssen’s cross. After immense pressure from Heracles, Dordrecht’s hearts were broken as Linssen netted the winner for the away side with four minutes to go.
Dordrecht are now eight points behind second bottom Go Ahead Eagles with five games to go, while Heracles are two points ahead of the bottom three.
