A 93rd minute goal from Michiel Kramer handed ADO Den Haag a 3-2 win at Excelsior which eases their relegation fears.

kramer adoexcBoth sides went into the game with fears of being dragged into the relegation play-offs with six games to go, as ADO Den Haag had lost their last three games, while Excelsior gained only one point from their last three duels.

It was ADO Den Haag who struck first just after the half hour mark when Iakovenko’s free kick was headed into the net by Michiel Kramer for his 15th of the season.

ADO Den Haag seemed comfortable but the game turned on its head in four second half minutes. After a nice combination with Jeff Stans, Adil Assouar fired Excelsior level on 59 minutes. Four minutes later Ninos Gouriye, on loan at Excelsior from ADO Den Haag, then fired the home side ahead with an almost identical goal.

However it was not to be Excelsior’s afternoon with Roland Alberg curling a terrific effort into the top corner for the equaliser, before Michiel Kramer headed ADO Den Haag’s winner in the 93rd minute.

ADO Den Haag now rise above their opponents into 13th place, and five points above the bottom three. Excelsior are one place behind them, and with only four points separating them and NAC Breda, they could be drawn into a relegation scrap.
