Heerenveen and ADO Den Haag headed into the winter break with a point apiece after playing out a 0-0 draw at the Abe Lenstra Stadion.

adoheeerejnfjfThe game was expected to be a battle between the league’s two top scorers Michiel Kramer and Mark Uth, but in truth the visitors came with a game plan to frustrate the more attack minded Heerenveen and the game turned into a struggle.

Heerenveen managed to create only one real chance in the first half, but Mark Uth drove straight at ADO Den Haag keeper Robert Zwinkels.

Zwinkels escaped a red card in the second half for pushing down Sam Larsson, and then went on to deny both Uth and a free kick from Marten de Roon. The best chance of the game fell to ADO Den Haag striker Mike van Duinen late on but the striker could not beat Kristoffer Nordfeldt from close range.

The point sees ADO Den Haag temporarily climb out of the bottom three, while Heerenveen sit 9th.
