Heerenveen extended their unbeaten run to eight games by hammering PEC Zwolle 4-0 at the Abe Lenstra Stadion.

001 heeepecHeerenveen were very impressive midweek in their 3-1 win over Feyenoord and they stormed ahead against PEC Zwolle with two goals in the first ten minutes. Firstly Luciano Slagveer capitalised on a defensive mix up on three minutes before sliding the ball past Warner Hahn and then seven minutes later Sam Larsson cut past a challenge in the box before firing into the corner.

PEC Zwolle, who went into the game in third, were shell-shocked and just before half time Jody Lukoki conceded a penalty and Mark Uth made no mistake from the spot to make it 3-0 for Heerenveen.

There was to be no comeback in the second half for PEC Zwolle and five minutes before the end Henk Veerman chipped over Hahn to score his first Heerenveen goal and complete the resounding win.

PEC Zwolle stay third but can be overtaken by Feyenoord and AZ on Sunday while Heerenveen climb to sixth.
