A single goal from Bryan Linssen was enough to hand Heracles Almelo a 1-0 victory over Go Ahead Eagles.

Go Ahead Eagles had no chance of escaping the relegation play-offs going into the game, but they could still climb above NAC Breda into 16th, which would see them face VVV Venlo instead of De Graafschap.
The visitors had the better chances in Almelo, but they failed to make their dominance count and four minutes into the second half Bryan Linssen brilliantly finished off a pass from Iliass Bel Hassani to put Heracles in front.
Heracles held on for the victory which sees them finish 14th in a season which began so terribly, while Go Ahead end the season second bottom. Despite the fears of relegation looming, Go Ahead Eagles could find themselves in the Europa League next season after Netherlands were awarded a place through the fair play initiative. The KNVB will decide on the Deventer club’s participation in the next few days.
