Heerenveen consolidated their place in the Eredivisie top six with a 4-1 win at Heracles in Almelo.

The away side were ahead after only four minutes when Luciano Slagveer took advantage of sloppy play from Dario Vujicevic before finishing past Bram Castro. However on 15 minutes Thomas Bruns equaled the scoreline for the home side after a poor pass from Kenny Otigba.
Heerenveen proved too strong in the second half with Sam Larsson making it 2-1 from an acute angle on 57 minutes, before Slagveer added his second on 74 minutes. Reported Tottenham target Mark Uth added a fourth on 82 minutes to seal a comfortable win for the Frisian side.
Heerenveen sit 6th in the table while Heracles remain one place above the bottom three in 15th.
