Heerenveen ended a run of eight games without a win as they saw off NAC Breda 2-0 thanks to a Mark Uth double.

uth heere89Heerenveen had not tasted victory since September, but they began the match strongly and they were denied a penalty on 30 minutes when goalkeeper Jelle ten Rouwelaar brought down Mark Uth. The foul was deemed to be just outside the box, and the goalkeeper was shown only a yellow card by referee Jeroen Manschot.

However ten minutes before the break Heerenveen finally had the lead through Uth, who finished Luciano Slagveer’s cross from close range for his tenth goal of the season.

Just after the hour mark Uth netted his second of the game, latching onto a pass from Kenny Otigba before beating a defender and sliding the ball past Ten Rouwelaar and into the bottom corner.

NAC had no response for the away side who comfortably held on for the win which lifts them to eighth in the table.
