PSV will head into the winter break with at least a four point lead at the top of the Eredivisie after they hammered Go Ahead Eagles 5-0 at the Philips Stadion.

The hosts started the game in control and after several squandered chances they eventually took the lead on 14 minutes as Santiago Arias fired in off the post after just beating the offside trap.
Go Ahead Eagles came close to equalising when Lars Lambooij header hit the bar before PSV doubled their lead just after the half hour mark when a long ball from Jeffrey Bruma was looped over Mickey van der Hart with a smart header by Memphis Depay.
PSV continued to dominate in the second half but it wasn’t until the 79th minute that they added a third with Depay finishing off a swift counter. The home side then completed the rout in the final two minutes as Florian Jozefzoon and Jurgen Locadia took advantage of lax defending to add further goals.
Go Ahead Eagles will finish the year in the bottom three, while PSV are currently seven points ahead of Ajax, who play Excelsior on Sunday.
