Cometh the half hour, cometh the man, as Graziano Pelle rose to head in a Jordy Clasie cross on 37 minutes, to ease the pressure around the stadium.

One minute later, the Italian striker ran onto a Clasie through ball to grab his, and Feyenoord’s second of the game, with an excellent, composed finish.

The hat-trick didn’t take too long to arrive, as eight minutes into the second half, Pelle was left alone in the box by NAC’s defence, allowing the Italian the easiest of headed finishes, after a pin point cross.

The away side pulled a goal back, but Pelle had done the damage, and the 3-1 win got Feyenoord’s season back on track. The hat-trick takes Pelle’s total to 5 goals in four matches, making him the second top scorer in the league, behind Alfred Finnbogason.

With one week left in the transfer window, Feyenoord fans may be nervous that their star man may be poached by another club, but currently all signs point to Pelle staying in Rotterdam this season.
