We round up all the action from the five Eredivisie matches on Wednesday, which saw Ajax take a step closer to their fourth title in a row.

klaassen rkcAjax are possibly one game away from claiming the Eredivisie title after they strolled to a 2-0 victory over RKC in Waalwijk. The first goal came after 14 minutes when Joel Veltman headed in a corner, before Davy Klaassen netted the second before the half hour mark.

With only four games to go, Ajax will win the title on Sunday if they beat Vitesse, and Feyenoord fail to win at home to RKC.

Feyenoord now have a four point lead in the race for 2nd place as they came from behind to record a 2-1 victory at Heracles. Iliass Bel Hassani had given the home side the lead, but further first half goals from Mitchell te Vrede and Tonny Vilhena were enough to seal victory. Heracles were reduced to ten men late on after Simon Cziommer was shown his second yellow.

ADO Den Haag are surprisingly still unbeaten under coach Henk Fraser as they held 9-man Twente to a 1-1 draw in Enschede. It seemed the home side were on course for victory when Felipe Gutierrez gave Twente an early lead, but a red card to defender Rasmus Bengtsson, just after the hour mark, changed the game.

Michiel Kramer netted the equaliser with eight minutes to go, before Luc Castaignos was also shown red on 88 minutes. Twente are now four points behind in the race for 2nd, while ADO Den Haag drop one place to 15th.

Utrecht took a huge step towards survival as they saw off 10-man Cambuur, who had Lucas Bijker sent off,  thanks to Jacob Mulenga’s 56th minute strike. Both sides are now five points ahead of the bottom three.

In another important game at the bottom Go Ahead Eagles recorded an important 2-1 win over NAC Breda. It was Henrico Drost’s OG that won the game for the Eagles after Jordy Buijs cancelled out Jarchinio Antonia’s opener. The win comes as a relief for Go Ahead, who were sitting only one point above the drop zone before the match.
