Ten Hag took charge of Utrecht back in 2015 but his current deal was set to expire in the summer. The club announced on Tuesday that the 46-year-old has extended his stay for another three years.

Ten Hag told the club’s official site, ”It is clear that I am happy with my choice for FC Utrecht. I feel happy at this club and I have a great working relationship with the people inside the club.

”We have improved the club, players and the staff and there are so many possibilities for this squad. Also upcoming youth players who will further develop at this club.

”For FC Utrecht their are sufficient challenges ahead ”
