Groningen held in-form Heerenveen to a draw at the Abe Lenstra stadion which keeps them in tenth position in the table.
After the game, Faber said, ” if you look at the game honestly I think that a draw was a fair result. It was an evenly balanced game and we can be satisfied with a point.
“We had chances to win the game and defensively we are not giving away a lot. But we have to be more decisive in our decision making. This game needed a goal in order to come alive and that unfortunately did not happen.
“This game has a lot of sentiment and it means a lot to the supporters but as team we are always concentrating on the pitch about what we have to do.
With two days left in the transfer window, Faber is hoping to do business, “We will see if we can do any business in the transfer window in the coming days but in that case it must be positive addition to the squad. We also have to prepare for the unexpected as you never know what will happen in the last days of the transfer window.
On Groningen’s goals, Faber is targeting the play-offs, “We set ourselves a goal at the start of the season to reach the play-offs. We are in good form and unbeaten in the last few game. We were bottom of the league at one point and we had to climb up the league and we now have to remain in contention for the play-offs come the end of the season.”
