FC Groningen have now only won one of their last six Eredivisie games and are currently 13th in the table.

Faber said, ”I compliment my team in trying to fight back after going down 1-0. But with 10 men after 23 minutes it was always going to be an uphill task.

”We were then faced with a situation after going down to 10 men of which players in the team would stand up to the task and also have the capability to give everything for the team.

”We must stay positive. I feel that we have dropped points tonight in the way that we gave the goal away. Let this be a warning sign for our upcoming KNVB Cup match away against Roda JC on Wednesday.

”I believe that we must search for the right attitude and that all players must fight for the team.”
