AZ Alkmaar travels to face Ukrainian side Dnipro-1 on Thursday in their first Europa Conference League group stage clash. The kick-off is at 20.00.

AZ eased through the qualifying stages of the competition and have been rewarded with a simple-looking group on paper. Apollon Limassol, FC Vaduz and Dnipro-1 are the opponents for Pascal Jansen’s side.

First up is a trip to Slovakia, where Dnipro-1 will play their matches due to the war in Ukraine at the moment.

AZ head into the game in good form with a 3-0 win over Emmen at the weekend making it four wins in five games.

Dnipro-1 dropped into the Europa Conference League after losing out to AEK Larnaca in the Europa League qualifiers. However, they started their league campaign with two wins including a 3-0 victory against Dynamo Kyiv.

Team News

Riechedly Bazoer has traveled with the AZ squad, but Vangelis Pavlidis misses out through injury. Jesper Karlsson and Bruno Martins Indi remain out.

Possible Dnipro-1 line-up: Max Walef, Busanello, Hamache, Adamyuk, Svatok, Sarapiy, Babenko, Pikhalyonok, Gutsulyak, Gromov, Dovbyk

Odds

Dnipro-1 11/2 Draw 3/1 AZ Alkmaar 11/20

A journey into the unknown for AZ

Dnipro-1 have begun their league campaign in great form but this is a tie that AZ Alkmaar should be looking to claim three points in.

Pascal Jansen’s side had a blip against Dundee United but they have looked strong otherwise and up front they have the ability to score goals. Jens Odgaard and Tiijani Reijnders are both in fine form and they will be key in Slovakia.

A win to kick off the group will set AZ Alkmaar on course for what should be top spot.
