AZ Alkmaar are into the third qualifying round of the Europa League after a 3-0 win in Sweden against BK Hacken.

AZ headed to Sweden needing to score after the disappointing 0-0 draw in the first-leg last week. Arnie Slot decided to start with Oussama Idrissi in place of Albert Gudmundsson, while Guus Til played despite links to Spartak Moscow.

The Dutch side dominated from the start but Owen Wijndal missed a sitter in front of goal while Idrissi had a goal disallowed for offside. Three minutes before the break, AZ finally broke the deadlock with Myron Boadu racing in on goal before calmly slotting the ball past the BK Hacken goalkeeper.

With BK Hacken needing to attack in the second half, space opened up for AZ and Calvin Stengs made it 2-0 just after the break after Boadu’s shot was blocked into his path.

Idrissi then made it 3-0 after a quick counter attack ended with the Moroccan being set up by Boadu.

Jordy Clasie was then brought on for his AZ debut as a replacement for Til, who may have played his final game for the club.

AZ progress to the next round of the Europa League and will face Ukrainian side FK Mariupol.
