Groningen condemned bottom of the table Fortuna Sittard to another defeat on Sunday. Jørgen Strand Larsen netted twice in a 3-1 victory.

An hour before kick-off, Groningen confirmed that Arjen Robben would not be in the squad for the clash in Limburg. However, he was not missed by the visitors.
After six minutes, Jørgen Strand Larsen scored his first goal for Groningen after being set up by Bart van Hintum. In the 28th minute, Van Hintum once again found the striker, who made it 2-0.
Ten minutes into the second half, Fortuna Sittard pulled one back through a Mats Seuntjens penalty. However, Van Hintum capped a wonderful performance by netting the 3rd for Groningen with a wonderful free-kick to seal the win.
Groningen are now seventh in the table, while Fortuna Sittard remains bottom.
