Everton have confirmed the appointment of Dutchman Ronald Koeman as their new head coach.

Koeman has been expected to take over the Merseyside club for weeks and Everton finally confirmed on Tuesday that the 53-year-old has signed a three-year contract. Everton will have to pay Southampton £5 million in compensation to bring Koeman to Liverpool, while the coach is set to earn £6 million a year.,
The former Ajax, Feyenoord and Valencia coach had been in charge of Southampton for two years, guiding the club to seventh and then sixth in the Premier League over the past two seasons.
Koeman told the official Everton website, “I am very excited to be Everton manager. I believe in the Club, in the team, in the fans and in our ability to achieve things in the future.
“Everton is a club with a great history and real ambition and it is a proud feeling for me to be part of what we want to go and do, together with the Chairman and Farhad Moshiri.
“I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the Club and to preparing for a big season in the Premier League.”
Koeman’s brother Erwin is expected to join him as his assistant coach at Everton.
