Excelsior took advantage of Edouard Duplan’s red card to take a 2-1 victory away from ADO Den Haag.

ADO Den Haag went into the game with confidence having picked their form up over recent weeks, but after only seven minutes Jinty Caenepeel fired Excelsior ahead.

The hosts chances of winning the game then took a huge blow on 26 minutes when Edouard Duplan was shown his second yellow card after a mistimed challenge. However, six minutes later, Sheraldo Becker netted on the rebound to equalise for ADO.

ADO Den Haag were the more comfortable side in the second half, despite the man disadvantage, but it was Excelsior who took the three points with Hicham Faik firing nin the winning goal. ADO came close to equalising in the last minute, but Ögmundur Kristinsson made an excellent save to deny Melvyn Lorenzen.

Excelsior sit tenth after the draw, while ADO Den Haag are one place below.
