De Graafschap remain rooted to the bottom of the Eredivisie after a 3-0 hammering by Excelsior in Rotterdam.

exce de grBoth sides went into the game without a win and in a dull first half it was De Graafschap who created the best chance, with Alexander Bannink heading wide from close range, while a long range Nigel Hasselbaink shot was the only noteworthy chance for Excelsior.

Two minutes after the break Excelsior had the lead with Sander Fischer heading a free kick past a rooted Hidde Jurjus and after an hour Bradley Kuwas made it 2-0 with a fine strike into he roof of the net.

Just before the end Excelsior made it three as Kuwas turned provider to set up Daryl van Mieghem to fire into the bottom corner. Excelsior post their first three points of the season, while De Graafschap remain pointless.
