Excelsior came from a goal behind to beat FC Twente 3-1 in Enschede.

FC Twente had won two games out of two after sacking Rene Hake and appeared on their way to another victory when Tom Boere fired them ahead after nice build-up play by Fredrik Jensen.

However, the hosts failed to build on their lead and Excelsior equalised before the break with Hicham Faik firing an excellent free kick into the top corner.

In the second half, Twente failed to regain their lead and eventually Milan Massop netted from a corner to put Excelsior ahead. In the 81st minute, Khalid Karami fired in Excelsior’s third to seal their victory.

Excelsior rise to 7th in the table while FC Twente sit 12th.
