For the third week in a row the Friday tie in the Eredivisie has ended 0-0, with Excelsior and Willem II playing out a stalemate in Rotterdam.

Both teams went into the tie still in danger of being drawn into a relegation scrap with Excelsior languishing 16th, while Willem II sit two places above.
It was Excelsior who controlled a dull tie in Rotterdam, but despite creating several chances they failed to find the net. Willem II goalkeeper Kostas Lamprou denied Bradley Kuwas in the first half, while after the break Tom van Weert and Adil Auassar both squandered great chances.
For Willem II, new signing Bartholomew Ogbeche failed to impress again, while there only real chance fell to Robbie Haemhouts, but the midfielder’s strike failed to truly test Tom Muyters.
The draw means both sides remain were they were in the table, and they could be dragged further into trouble if the teams around them pick up points later this weekend.
