The 22-year-old was not offered a new contract at Vitesse despite making seven first-team appearances last season and has now moved to Excelsior, signing a three-year deal.

The Rotterdam club were on the lookout for a new defender after Wout Faes, Jordy de Wijs and Shane O’Neill all left at the end of the season.

Oude Kotte is the sixth new player for Excelsior after Robin van der Meer, Jerdy Schouten, Denis Mahmudov, Sonny Stevens and Maarten de Fockert.
