lakay aaCurrently playing for National First Division side Santos, Lakay only turned 17 in May and should Zwolle wish to make a move for the exciting forward, he cannot move to the Netherlands until he turns 18.

During a game for Jong PEC Zwolle against their FC Utrecht counterparts on Tuesday, the bright Lakay provided an assist in the 2-2 draw. His confident performance could land him a contract with the club and ‘Hulk’ could be the next South African to star in the Eredivisie.

Furthermore, as a regular in the South Africa under 17 national squad since the age of 14, a call up to the senior squad is surely on the horizon. If this happens in the next 7 months, Lakey will break Rivaldo Coetzee’s record for being the youngest player ever to be capped by South Africa.

In light of his extended trial at the club, PEC Zwolle will feel that they have unearthed a gem that will help this ambitious club move on to the next level.
