Eerste Divisie side FC Eindhoven have signed Chelsea defender Cristian Cuevas on loan until the end of the season.

Chelsea signed the left back from Chilean side O’Higgins in the summer before loaning him out to Eredivisie side Vitesse. However the 18-year-old failed to make an appearance for the Arnhem side, with Patrick van Aanholt ahead of him in the pecking order, and Vitesse terminated the loan.
Due to injuries to Maxime Gunst and Adreano van den Diest FC Eindhoven were keen to sign a left back, and they have agreed to sign Cuevas until the end of the season.
Eindhoven’s technical manager Hans Smulders told the official site, “Cristian Cuevas is a talented young player who we followed for some time at Vitesse ,”
“He is a type of player that fits our profile and thereby Cristian is a player who wants to work hard in his development, is ambitious, and wants to be successful with FC Eindhoven. We are therefore very pleased to have got faith in our ambitions and methods from Cuevas as well as Chelsea, and that is how this cooperation came about.”
