van persie fenerbaThe striker spoke of his frustration after being substituted once again during Fenerbahce’s 2-0 win over Lokomotiv Moscow last week, stating he will not be able to reach peak form if he keeps being taken off.

However his coach Vito Pereira has hit back at Van Persie, claiming the former Manchester United star needs to improve his form on the pitch if he is to be undroppable.

He told Lig TV, “Van Persie wasn’t really fit for many games this season though he’s been doing better lately,”

“But the important thing is that if a player wants to play, then he needs to play better and train better. If someone doesn’t play regularly then it simply means his level is not enough.

“I’m trying to manage a squad which consists of 20 plus players.

“I can’t point my finger at a single player for tonight’s result against Bursaspor. Fernandao and Van Persie played together in second half but we still couldn’t score.”

Pereira also stated that Van Persie is not too high profile not to be dropped. He concluded, “We should respect each other. It is my decision to decide which players will be on pitch.”
