Fenerbahce has confirmed the signing of NEC Nijmegen midfielder Ferdi Kadioglu on a four-year deal.

The 18-year-old arrived in Turkey on Friday and has now put pen to paper on his deal with Super Lig giants Fenerbahce, who are coached by Phillip Cocu.

NEC Nijmegen have not announced the transfer fee but it is believed to be around €1.4 million with some bonuses included.

Kadioglu told the NEC website, “I am extremely happy and proud that I can and must make this wonderful step.

“Of course, I will miss everyone in and around the club, because I have been walking around here since my youngest years. NEC and its supporters are forever in my heart and I want to thank everyone in and around the club, from supporters to volunteers, for the fantastic time I have had here.”

The midfielder made his debut for NEC aged 16 and went on to make 70 appearances, scoring 12 goals and adding 16 assists. However, the Netherlands U21 international couldn’t help them win promotion back to the Eredivisie and now moves to Turkey, the country of his father.
