Leroy Fer will be staying at Feyenoord after signing a new two-year deal with the club.

The 30-year-old returned to Feyenoord last summer but was only on a one-year deal.

After an impressive campaign, clubs from Turkey were circling Fer, but an agreement has finally been reached with Feyenoord after weeks of talks.

Fer will sign a new two-year contract, binding the Dutch international to the club until 2022.

Frank Arnesen told the club’s website, “Leroy has quickly and without a doubt proved his worth for Feyenoord after his return last season. An important link in the midfield of trainer Dick Advocaat. He has more than lived up to all expectations and, with his experience both inside and outside the field, is of great value to this selection.”
