Coach Louis van Gaal has called up in form midfielder Leroy Fer to plug the gap, with the Norwich City player in line to earn his third cap.

Gregory van der Wiel was called into the squad for the first time since Euro 2012, but due to a knee problem, was forced to pull out on Monday, with Augsburg’s Paul Verhaegh called in.

PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay is also in the squad, and is set to make his debut for the Oranje, finally ending any speculation of a switch of allegiance to Ghana.

Nigel De Jong, and Tim Krul are also included once again after long spells out of the national fold, while Jasper Cillessen makes it ahead of fellow Ajax keeper Kenneth Vermeer.

The full squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Tim Krul (Newcastle United), Michel Vorm (Swansea City) and Jasper Cillessen (Ajax)

Defenders: Daley Blind (Ajax), Jeffrey Bruma (PSV), Daryl Janmaat (Feyenoord), Bruno Martins Indi (Feyenoord), Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa), Stefan de Vrij (Feyenoord), Paul Verhaegh (Augsburg) and Jetro Willems (PSV)

Midfielders: Jordy Clasie (Feyenoord), Leroy Fer (Norwich City), Nigel de Jong ( AC Milan), Wesley Sneijder (Galatasaray), Kevin Strootman (AS Roma), Rafael van der Vaart (Hamburger SV).

Forwards: Dirk Kuyt (Fenerbahçe), Jeremain Lens (Dinamo Kiev), Robin van Persie (Manchester United), Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich), Memphis Depay (PSV).

Netherlands have already qualified for next summers World Cup, but Van Gaal will be looking to win both matches to try, and improve the countries world ranking. Right now Holland currently sit outside the required ranking to be seeded for the competition in Brazil next summer.
