Leroy Fer has confirmed he is hoping to sign a contract with Feyenoord but added it is up to the club’s management to make him the offer.

The midfielder left Swansea City in the summer and has been training with Feyenoord to regain fitness.

Speaking to Veronica after Feyenoord’s 2-2 draw with Angers, Fer said, “I came here with a disadvantage. Feyenoord gave me the opportunity to train with me. I am getting fitter and fitter.”

Asked about a contract he said, “That is upstairs . I came here to train and do my best. Feyenoord is the club where I started and is in my heart. Hopefully I will get a contract.”

English media linked Sheffield United with the midfielder and he admitted he does have other options, “There are a few options, but I’m here to get fit. That’s my main focus. I think other clubs know that too. Feyenoord is in my heart. It’s upstairs. We’ll see. “
