Feyenoord’s summer signing forced Zorya goalkeeper Oleksiy Shevchenko into two early saves. A header and a right-footed strike needed to be tipped away by the Ukranian.

Despite only having a half-full stadium this evening, De Kuip was still a cauldron of noise. It almost got even louder when Bilal Basacikoglu met Rick Karsdorp’s delivery, but the Turk planted his header over the bar.

The only goal of the game came at the start of the second-half, when Basacikoglu pulled back the ball within the penalty area to set-up Jørgensen for an easy finish.

Zorya barely carried a threat all evening. In the end it appeared a comfortable victory for the Dutch side, who now top the group with six points along with Manchester United, following the English side’s 4-1 win over Fenerbache.
