Two late goals saved Feyenoord’s blushes as they struggled past bottom side Dordrecht 2-0 in Rotterdam.

toornafeyThe away side showed their intentions in the first half as they sat with almost ten men behind the ball from the start, and without Jordy Clasie or Elvis Manu Feyenoord struggled to find a way through. Feyenoord’s best chances came from long balls in the first half, but striker Colin-Kazim Richards was wasteful.

Early in the second half Jens Toornstra forced Filip Kurto into a good save, while Terence Kongolo struck the crossbar with a header. Dordrecht were defending resolutely, but they were reduced to ten men after 72 minutes when Marvin Peersman saw red for a late challenge on Toornstra.

Finally on 86 minutes the deadlock was broken by Toornstra, who smashed the ball in from close range after a scramble in the box. In the 4th minute of injury time Ruben Schaken sealed the win with an excellent chipped finish which flew over the head of a stranded Kurto.

The win keeps Feyenoord third, while Dordrecht are now 12 games without a win and stay rooted to the bottom.
