The striker is being heavily linked with an exit from Fenerbahce this summer with Feyenoord the favourites to resign the 33-year-old, who spent five years with the Rotterdam club between 1996 and 2004.
Speaking to AD, Van Bronckhorst confirmed talks have begun over bringing Van Persie back to De Kuip.
He said, “We really want to. “I hope the green light comes. I know Robin of course well. It would be nice if we could use him in the Champions League.”
Van Bronckhorst added that he hopes to have clarity this weekend over whether Steven Berghuis will return to the club from Watford.
Bring RVP back? Sure but not if it means Jorgensen leaves. He is the better player now. Now if the plan is to have RVP and Jorgensen on the field at the same time…. now we are on to something.
