Feyenoord have had an excellent start to the season, and are joint top with Ajax, going in to the 10th round of fixtures in the Eredivisie.
Coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst has said on their title aspirations, “You know that things can turn around quickly in a club like Feyenoord. If you have success and things are going well naturally people are going to talk about the title.
“The only thing we can do is keep going and try to win every game. Until now things are going well. We are fully focused on the next game this weekend against AZ Alkmaar. Our goal is to win every game and compete.”
Van Bronckhorst also gave his reaction on the sad news about Johan Cruyff
He said, It is sad news. He is a massive personality in the way he played he was important for this club too and I got to know him better when I was at Barcelona.
“When you are in his company you quickly realize that he is the best player that our country has ever produced. It is an honor to speak with him about football. He is in the Same category as Pele , Maradona and Beckenbauer that is Johan Cruyff for us and we have to cherish that. As a person and a club we wish him well in his recovery ‘
before the season I thought we could get 25 points in the first 10 games. A win this weekend and that is what we have! The last 10 games are even easier. That would be 50ish points. Can we get to 30 points in the middle 14 games? if so that should get the title!
