Boetius came through the Feyenoord academy and made 96 appearances for the first team, scoring 20 goals and adding 16 assists before leaving for Basel in 2015.However, the winger never settled in Switzerland, and after 23 appearances he was loaned to Belgian side Genk for the last six months of last season.
Genk decided not to make the 23-year-old’s loan permanent and that has allowed Feyenoord to swoop and bring him back to the club. An agreement in principle has been made with Boetius over a three-year deal which will be signed when the last few formalities have been reached with Basel.
