The 21-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and as of yet, it does not appear that a new deal is in the offing.
Hellas Verona senses an opportunity with AD reporting that Tony D’Amico, the Italians technical director, is hoping to bring in the midfielder on a free transfer in the summer.
Verona signed former Feyenoord midfielder Sofyan Amrabat from Club Brugge in the past and then sold him on for big money to Fiorentina. They think Wehrmann could be another financial boost for them.
Wehrmann has made six appearances for Feyenoord this season, but only one start for Dick Advocaat’s side.
