vilhena feeFeyenoord have been trying to convince the 20-year-old to remain in Rotterdam and made him a lucrative contract offer in March. However, the midfielder has set his heart on an exit and will be a free agent this summer.

As a guest on Tafel met Kees on Sunday, Feyenoord director Martin van Geel spoke of the situation surrounding Vilhena.

Van Geel,¬†“It’s been quiet for weeks on that angle. They have not come back to our final offer of a few weeks ago. That’s a shame. We think that he should stay yet for two years and then leave internationally.

“But we need to give serious consideration to an exit. We have had two and a half years of discussion. We have therefore responded by signing Renato Tapia.”

A number of top clubs have been linked with Vilhena, including  FC Porto, Swansea City, Leicester City, Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion, Sunderland, Juventus , AS Roma , AS Monaco and Bayern Munich.
