vilhena feeFeyenoord have been trying to convince the 20-year-old to remain in Rotterdam and made him a lucrative contract offer in March. However, the midfielder has set his heart on an exit and will be a free agent this summer.

As a guest on Tafel met Kees on Sunday, Feyenoord director Martin van Geel spoke of the situation surrounding Vilhena.

Van Geel, “It’s been quiet for weeks on that angle. They have not come back to our final offer of a few weeks ago. That’s a shame. We think that he should stay yet for two years and then leave internationally.

“But we need to give serious consideration to an exit. We have had two and a half years of discussion. We have therefore responded by signing Renato Tapia.”

A number of top clubs have been linked with Vilhena, including  FC Porto, Swansea City, Leicester City, Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion, Sunderland, Juventus , AS Roma , AS Monaco and Bayern Munich.
