Feyenoord have kept up the pace with the top three in the Eredivisie after a 2-0 victory over FC Twente.

Arne Slot decided to start with Santiago Giminez up front instead of Danilo as he freshed up his line-up from the draw against Midtjylland in midweek.

Both sides had good chances before the deadlock was broken in fantastic fashion in the 43rd minute as Orkun Kokcu placed a free-kick past Lars Unnerstall.

In stoppage time, Giminez missed an excellent opportunity to make it 2-0, before Vaclav Cerny was shown a red card for a rash challenge on Javairo Dilrosun.

Ricky van Wolfswinkel wasted a good chance to equalise early in the second half before Feyenoord added a second goal in the 64th minute. David Hancko reacted first after a cross wasn’t dealt with completely by Unnerstall.

Feyenoord saw out the rest of the game comfortably and they now move four points clear of FC Twente. Feyenoord are fourth and Twente one spot behind them. The gap to the top for Feyenoord is just three points.
