Feyenoord defeated Hapoel Beer Sheva 3-0 in Israel on Thursday to ease their way into the Europa League group stages. Feyenoord won 6-0 on aggregate.

Jaap Stam decided to name the same eleven that won 3-0 in the first-leg last week.

Hapoel Beer Sheva began brightly and Kenneth Vermeer was called into action on several occasions to keep the scoreline at 0-0. After the opening phase, Feyenoord looked dangerous on the counter-attack but Ernestas Setkus denied Luciano Narsingh, who also had an effort cleared off the line.

Just before the break the game swung in Feyenoord’s favour when Hanan Maman was shown a straight red card for a foul on Ridgeciano Haps.

In the second half, Feyenoord proved far too strong for the 10-man hosts. A minute into the second half, Rick Karsdorp burst into the box before setting up Orkun Kokcu to stab in the opening goal.

Steven Berghuis quickly made it 2-0 with a low strike from the edge of the box before Wouter Burger added the third. The substitute created space in the box with a wonderful piece of skill before finding the net.

Naoufal Bannis was brought on for Leroy Fer and the 17-year-old had the perfect chance to make it 4-0 from the penalty spot but his poor spot-kick was saved by Setkus.

Feyenoord ease into the Europa League group stage draw which takes place on Friday.
