Feyenoord continued their upturn in form with a simple 5-1 victory over Roda JC in De Kuip.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst restored Nicolai Jorgensen to the starting line-up and the Dane opened the scoring in the first minute, finishing well after a Sam Larsson flick.

Three minutes later, Larsson provided another assist, this time setting up Jens Toornstra to fire in the hosts second and start chants of “ten, ten, ten” from the crowd who expected goals.

However, after the hectic opening, Feyenoord failed to add any further goals in the first half and five minutes into the second half, Simon Gustafson headed past Brad Jones to pull one back for the visitors.

Any tension was quickly ended by Jorgensen who restored Feyenoord’s two goal lead on 56 minutes after being set-up by Tonny Vilhena. In the final minutes, Steven Berghuis put gloss on the victory with two goals to end Feyenoord’s year on a high note.

The Rotterdammers remain fifth while Roda JC slip below Sparta and into 18th on goal difference.
