cl trophyFeyenoord were unseeded for the draw, and will face a tough tie against Besiktas, who finished 3rd in the Turkish league last season.

The first leg will be played at De Kuip stadion in Rotterdam on the  29th or 30th of July before the 2nd leg in Turkey a week later. Should Feyenoord progress then they would meet Arsenal FC, FC Porto, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, SSC Napoli or Athletic Club for a place in the group stages.

Feyenoord last played in the Champions League at this stage two seasons ago when they were knocked out in the 3rd qualifying round by Dynamo Kiev. The Rotterdam side have not qualified for the group stages since the 2001/02 season.

Over the next two weeks before the first leg Feyenoord coach Fred Rutten will hope to bring in a few players having lost Bruno Martins Indi, Daryl Janmaat, and star striker Graziano Pelle in the past few weeks.
