Feyenoord had only scored once in their last five games, with the attack’s struggles a big reason for their poor recent form.
Against VVV, Feyenoord also struggled to find the net in a goalless first-half. Orkun Kokcu came closest with a strike against the crossbar.
Luis Sinisterra appeared early in the second half, but the deadlock was not broken until the 69th minute. Jens Toornstra found the net with a lovely strike from distance.
Berghuis then quickly made it 2-0 with a curled strike before Toornstra wrapped up the victory in the 77th minute. Leroy Fer then made his return from injury before the end to make it an even better day for the Rotterdam side.
Feyenoord’s win moves them into second spot, while VVV are down in 15th.
