The Moroccan striker played in the past for Willem II, AZ Alkmaar and Ajax Amsterdam. El Hamdoui currently plays for the Italian club Fiorentina but played last season on loan for Malaga.
Feyenoord management is working hard to get a new striker to Rotterdam, after the transfer of Graziano Pelle to Southampton. According to Dutch media Feyenoord is trying to get Mounir el Hamdoui to Rotterdam, while Bas Dost, striker of Wolfsburg, is also linked to the club.
Dost wants to go to Feyenoord, but till today the two clubs have yet to agree a fee.. Feyenoord now has an eye for old-Eredivisie star El Hamdoui. El Hamdoui became champion with AZ in 2009, he scored 23 times. His coach that time was Louis van Gaal.
Mounir el Hamdaoui is surely a ‘budget basement’ or ‘cheap’ option? Hasn’t excelled since he left Amsterdam. Too much of a risk, even if he is cheap in comparison to a proper Pelle replacement.
