Jaap Stam decided to stand down from his role as head coach after Sunday’s 4-0 loss to Ajax.
According to Voetbal International, Feyenoord are hoping to appoint Dick Advocaat to replace Stam on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
They would then look more long term in the summer. The club see no rush to make a big decision as they currently sit 12th in the Eredivisie.
Advocaat is said to be interested in the position. The 72-year-old has been without a job since leaving Utrecht at the end of last season.
