Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Wehrmann has joined Swiss side FC Luzern on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old made his first-team debut this season and was involved in the win over PSV Eindhoven last weekend.

However, Wehrmann isn’t guaranteed first-team football and the club has decided to let him join FC Luzern on loan until the end of the campaign.

Feyenoord director Frank Arnesen told the club’s website, “This season he has been able to make the necessary minutes as a substitute at Feyenoord 1 and train with the first selection. However, for a talented, hard-working midfielder like Jordy, it is good to play even more matches and to show his qualities. He gets the chance to do that in Lucerne.”

Hoffenheim have recently been linked with a move for the youngster, while De Graafschap failed with a loan offer. Wehrmann’s deal with Feyenoord expires this summer but the club have an option to automatically extend it for a year.
