The Swedish international spent a successful loan spell at De Kuip during the 2011/12 season, netting 20 goals in 23 league appearances, but has since struggled to nail down a first team place in Manchester.
With Feyenoord needing a new striker to replace the departed Graziano Pelle, they have turned their attentions to Guidetti, and according to Voetbal International the club has met the player’s representative’s in Portugal to thrash out a deal.
The only stumbling block for a potential deal is the transfer fee, with Manchester City reportedly asking for €5 million, despite the 22-year-old having no future at the club.
Feyenoord are desperate to sign a new striker quickly, and as well as Guidetti, the club are interested in Wolfsburg’s Bas Dost, and Napoli’s Duvan Zapata.
Just because Guidetti is supposed to have no future at City, even though he featured in their pre season, why wouldn’t they expect a reasonable fee for him. Are you telling me that 5 million euros represents big money for Feyenoord? Dutch clubs expect a lot more when selling their players. If you cant afford that look elsewhere. Try the English Conference (fifth tier) maybe.
No problem affording the 5 million but is that a reasonable fee? Is he fully fit after his illness? He hasn’t shown much for Man City or even when on loan at Stoke.
Not given a proper change at either club. I know he’s been working hard to get back to full fitness.
5 million is nothing to City.
5 mill is a lot at the moment until our lawyers smash the FFP rulings to bits.
Write the check! We need help. After picking up 33 million is sells, time to spend a bit.
As for MCFC, so what if they have money. They have an asset we want and we have to pay for it. Just because they are a wealthy team doesn’t mean they have to give away anything. 5 mill is a fair price for Guidetti. Write the check and get him signed to 5+ years. Then find 2 more quality guys and we are set.
He’s wasting away at City. They should just let jim go already!
