janmaat cdfFeyenoord director Martin van Geel stated on Tuesday that he had only received one offer for a player, and that was Lazio’s rejected bid for defender Stefan de Vrij.

However Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Napoli have agreed personal terms with right back Daryl Janmaat, who is set to leave Rotterdam this summer after contract talks stalled with Feyenoord.

Juventus were also rumoured to be interested in the Netherlands international, but cancelled a scouting trip to Amsterdam to watch Janmaat in action against Wales on Wednesday, as they seem to have admitted defeat to Napoli.

It remains to be seen whether Napoli can agree a transfer fee with Feyenoord, who reportedly want around €9 million for the 24-year-old who joined for free in 2012. The Italians will be keen to get any deal done before Netherlands begin their World Cup campaign against Spain on June 13th.
