According to several reports, Feyenoord are negotiating with FC Basel to sign striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

With Nicolai Jorgensen injured and Dylan Vente unimpressive, Feyenoord are searching for a new striker.

That search has led them to Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who is in the final year of his contract with FC Basel. According to AD, Feyenoord are in negotiations with the Swiss side but are yet to agree on a fee.

Feyenoord will receive at €9 million for the sale of Jeremiah St Juste and will use some of that money on van Wolfswinkel, who is reportedly keen on a return to the Netherlands.

The 30-year-old is set for a move again having previously played for Vitesse, FC Utrecht, Sporting Lisbon, Norwich City, Saint-Etienne, Real Betis, again Vitesse and now FC Basel.

Feyenoord are also looking to sign defenders. Liverpool’s George Johnston is close to joining on a permanent deal while Lille centre-back Edgar Ié is also a target.
