Feyenoord have confirmed the signing of Liverpool U23 centre-back George Johnston.

The 20-year-old was captain of Liverpool’s U23’s last season but could not make his breakthrough to the first-team.

Feyenoord have now brought in the Scottish youth international on a two-year deal with the option of a third. They have paid Liverpool around €300,000.

Johnston joins just as Feyenoord have confirmed the departure of Jeremiah St Juste to Mainz 05. The Rotterdammers are also set to complete the signing of Rick Karsdorp on loan from AS Roma.
