cisse aCisse’s contract was due to expire this summer, but the club released a statement on their website, confirming that the deal had been terminated early.

The statement read, “Feyenoord and Sekou Cisse have agreed termination of the strikers contract. The 28-year-old Ivorian is therefore free to search for another club.”

Cisse joined Feyenoord from Roda JC for €3 million back in 2009, but injuries have restricted the forward to only 56 league appearances, in which he has netted 14 goals.

So far this season, Cisse has only appeared once for Ronald Koeman’s side, in the home game against FC Twente back in August.

Feyenoord tried to offload Cisse in the summer, but a combination of injuries, and the forwards unwillingness to move to Turkey scuppered any deal.
